The CTSI's educational efforts are consolidated under the Institute for Clinical Research Education (ICRE). The ICRE offers a variety of educational, training, and career development programs designed to enhance understanding of, and promote careers in, clinical and translational research.
ICRE Career Development and Training Awards
Clinical and Translational Science (CTS) Scholars Program (KL2)
The CTS-KL2 is a highly competitive program for junior faculty at the University of Pittsburgh. The program offers 75% salary support for up to 5 years to provide protected time to conduct preliminary research for a career development award. Scholars are expected to apply for a K award or another career development award in the first year of the program.
Clinical and Translational Science (CTS) Fellowship (TL1)
The TL1 Clinical and Translational Science Fellowship is a translational research training program for pre- and post-doctoral students who find innovative ways to advance research from the initial discovery through improved patient outcomes and health policy.
