Successful scientific research must take place within the context of ethical standards and practices. At any step in the research process, a member of the research team may encounter issues that need to be addressed in a thoughtful, responsible manner. The CTSI Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Center serves as a resource for the ethical conduct of research at the University of Pittsburgh. Our objective is to provide education so that researchers can learn to effectively recognize and avoid research misconduct and understand the resources that are available to support their research.
Discussion based workshops in the RCR Center address the fundamentals of RCR and issues specific to a variety of subject matter areas. The RCR Center offers resources to assist training directors in developing a successful RCR Training plan. RCR Center resources are available to help investigators meet NIH RCR training requirements.
