While the process of preparing a grant application and securing research funding might seem daunting, there’s actually much more to do before the actual research begins.  Among other considerations, you’ll want to line up your research resources, whatever they might be for the type of study you’re pursuing; organize your data collection and record-keeping procedures; arrange for informatics services and statistical analysis, if needed; and finalize your budget in order to track expenses.
