Unsure what resources are available for your research or how to access them? At a loss as to what you need to get started? CTSI has you covered. The CTSI Research Facilitator Program provides a single point of service for matching existing resources with investigators’ needs. Research facilitators are health professionals with well-defined clinical and research experience of their own—who have developed expertise in guiding researchers to identify, navigate, and access available resources for clinical and translational studies.
In addition, research facilitators are available to interact on behalf of investigators (especially junior investigators and those engaged in pilot studies) within the extensive and geographically diverse matrix of the academic health center to facilitate research collaborations, recruit study participants, and meet any other resource needs.
Upon request, research facilitators will assemble appropriate experts to advise investigators about regulatory and ethical issues, budget matters, staffing, education, study design, or other concerns related to a grant submission or a research project.
Mentoring about proper research protocols as well as information about research requirements and regulations, useful Web sites and listserves, guidance documents for registry development, research in protected populations, and other relevant matters are also available from research facilitators.
Investigators can submit a CTSI Service Request or contact a research facilitator by phone or e-mail: 412-383-1171; 412-383-1036 or ctsi@hs.pitt.edu. All questions and requests receive a response within two business days.
