Clinical and Translational Science Institute Preparing Grant Proposals and Securing Research Funding Preparing For A Study Conducting A Study Completing A Study Implementing The Results

From sophisticated laboratory equipment for biologic imaging, flow cytometric analysis, and a vast range of other procedures to facilities where blood draws and various other clinical assessments can be conducted, the University of Pittsburgh provides numerous research resources for its investigators. In addition, an overview of offerings available for basic studies, cadaveric and tissue research, animal studies, clinical research, and community studies can be found in Resources by Research Category. For starters, here are some basic issues that cross all lines of research:

Check Box What specialized facilities, equipment, or services are required for your research?

Check Box Have you contacted the administrators of the facilities that you intend to use in your research? (Note: If not, do so ASAP!)

Check Box Are those resources and facilities available in the time frame required for your research project?

Check Box Have you obtained the current research rates for those facilities?

Check Box Are you planning to use facilities outside the University for which a contract is needed?

Check Box Have sufficient funds been budgeted to cover the associated costs?

Check Box How much time is anticipated as being needed for these facilities, equipment, or services?

Check Box How soon must these resources be reserved, and how must the reservations be made?

Check Box Do you know what help with any of these issues is available from CTSI and how to access that help?
