About Magee-Womens Hospital Clinical and Translational Research Center (MWH-CTRC)
The MWH-CTRC is an outpatient facility equipped to support a wide range of clinical and translational research, including sexually transmitted diseases, bariatric surgery, HIV transmission prevention contraception, reproductive endocrinology, infertility, complementary medicine, preterm labor, fetal alcohol syndrome, preeclampsia, and infant outcomes related to medications and breastfeeding. The facility has six examination rooms, five interview rooms, a three-bay infusion area, and a specimen processing area. Additional exam and interview rooms are located in the Ambulatory Clinic for research activity.
The unit is staffed with three registered nurses and a lab technician experienced in conducting clinical studies. The unit is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Investigators requiring additional or weekend hours should contact the MWH-CTRC administrator, Kathleen Laychak to discuss availability.
